
Parys (Mamma P) is the owner and founder of Mamma Ps Kitchen.
Born and raised in North London, she first learned her way around the kitchen from her Mum and Nanny. Coming from a Caribbean background, every Sunday morning, she would wake up to the smell of some flavoured boiled peas simmering nicely, whilst her mum’s favourite tune ‘Aint no stopping us now’ played in the background. Her mum would always say “You must always boil peas first thing when you wake up” – a routine which has stuck with her for life!
As she grew older, her interest in food and cookery increased, which resulted in her self-taught ability to achieve popular world dishes. Shes been In the kitchen, wrist twistin’ like a stir fry!
‘Mamma P’s Kitchen’ venture first began in 2016, when Parys lived in Brighton for a few years, and noticed the lack of Caribbean takeaways within the area.
This led to Mamma P providing a mini takeaway service for her colleagues and university friends.
At first she cooked for fun; but after high volume requests, Mamma P realised her passion for feeding the masses.
Once she returned to London, she was hesitant to continue her takeaway service, as her clientele was based in Brighton. However, her tune changed real quick as her love for cooking became her true fervor!
As the years continued, Mamma P’s Kitchen grew rapidly and expanded over into the catering industry. She prides on volunteering her services to support the community by catering for shelters annually.
At Mamma P’s Kitchen she provides soulful food cooked & served with love. Her services range from large catered events to a private dining experience for two. She offer’s a wide variety of hot and cold dishes, and are open to any requests ‘Foodie & Boujee’ – An experience you will not want to miss out on!
